  • The F-150's base engine is a 3.3L Ti-VCT V-6  that generates 290 horsepower, 265 pound-feet of torque. With a max tow rating of 8,200 pounds and a max payload of 1,985 pounds, it's well-suited to everyday jobs and then some. But if you've got heavier-duty tasks on your agenda, you're going to need more torque, which you'll find in abundance with any of F-150's available engines.

  • 2.7L EcoBoost® V-6 (325 hp, 400 lb-ft): Intercooled and twin-turboed, this modestly-sized powerhouse unleashes big capability from its small displacement, allowing F-150 to tow up to 10,100 pounds and haul up to 2,480 pounds while maintaining impressive efficiency.

  • 5.0L Ti-VCT V-8 (400 hp, 410 lb-ft): Ford's legendary V-8 has been re-tuned for the F-150's new generation, boosting its max towing capacity by 1,500 pounds (13,000-lbs) and empowering a class-leading payload rating of 3,325 pounds.

  • 3.5L EcoBoost® V-6 (400 hp, 500 lb-ft): The F-150's most formidable gasoline powerplant gets an extra 25 horses and 30 pound-feet more torque, pushing its best-in-class towing capacity to a colossal 14,000 pounds, rivaling even a few of the competition's "heavy duty" offerings.
