Performance

On paper, the new Chevy Silverado EV has a little more horsepower than the new Ford F-150 Lightning. However, torque plays a more important role for towing, and the Lightning outdoes the Silverado EV in standard torque. People in Tennessee who often pull horse trailers or campers will appreciate that the F-150 Lightning Pro puts out 775 pound-feet of standard torque. The Silverado EV's base WT trim only makes 615 pound-feet of torque.

Utility

Both the new Ford F-150 Lightning and the new Chevy Silverado EV can tow up to 10,000 pounds when properly equipped. However, northwest Georgia drivers who often carry construction supplies or heavy equipment in the back of their truck will prefer the F-150 Lightning. It has a maximum payload capacity of 2,000 pounds. The Silverado EV can only haul up to 1,300 pounds.

Safety

The new Ford F-150 and the new Chevy Silverado EV are both safe trucks with numerous driver-assist features. Careful drivers in Chattanooga will like that the F-150 comes standard with lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist. Those features are optional on the Silverado EV, so you have to pay more to add them.

Technology

The new Ford F-150 Lightning will come with Ford's latest Sync 4 software. People in Tennessee will appreciate its standard 12.0-inch infotainment touch screen. The new Chevy Silverado EV will also have a feature-rich infotainment system, but its standard touch screen is just 11 inches long.

Design

Northwest Georgia drivers will like that the new Ford F-150 Lightning comes with a tailgate that has helpful measurements stamped into it for when they're on the job site. It also has a separate cargo bed that you can load stuff into without worry. The new Chevy Silverado EV has a Multi-Flex mid-gate that could get damaged when loading it if you're not careful.
