New Tax Credits & Savings for Ford Buyers: 2025 and Beyond

Ford buyers now have access to powerful tax-related savings and incentives - especially when choosing U.S.-assembled Ford vehicles. These programs offer financial benefits for eligible auto loans and EV purchases.

At Mtn View Ford, we're helping customers understand how to make the most of them.
Auto Loan Interest Tax Deduction (2025-2028)
Starting with vehicle purchases financed in 2025, you can deduct up to $10,000 per year in auto loan interest - even if you claim the standard deduction.

To qualify, the vehicle must meet all of these:
  • New and purchased with a finance loan (not a lease or used vehicle)
  • Final assembly in the U.S. (check the Monroney window sticker or VIN info)
  • Used for personal, not commercial, purposes
  • Your modified adjusted gross income is under $100K (single filer) or $200K (joint filers); higher incomes face a partial phase-out
Some of the common Ford models that qualify include F‑Series pickups, Bronco, Mustang, Explorer, Escape, Ranger, Expedition, Super Duty, Transit, as well as all Lincoln models built in the U.S.A.

If you're financing a qualifying vehicle this year, talk to our finance team to get full details.
$7,500 EV Tax Credit (Expires 9/30/2025)

You may qualify for a $7,500 federal EV tax credit when purchasing a new Ford EV such as the F‑150 Lightning. You can apply it at the time of purchase or claim it later on your tax return.

To qualify:
  • The EV must be assembled in North America (U.S., Canada, or Mexico)
  • MSRP must be under $80,000 for trucks or SUVs
  • Vehicle production must meet specific battery sourcing rules (critical minerals and components)
This credit is temporary and expires on September 30, 2025. If you're considering a Ford EV purchase, now's the time to act before it disappears.

Commercial EV Tax Credit for Businesses (Expires 9/30/2025)

Businesses leasing electric commercial vehicles can also access savings through tax credits passed through leasing firms like Ford Credit.

Some eligible Ford vehicles include the Mustang Mach‑E and the F‑150 Lightning

This federal credit makes fleet electrification more affordable - again, with a deadline of September 30, 2025. If you're shopping for business use, our team can help make sure you take advantage of these savings.
