Ford Ranger Super Duty

The Ford Ranger Super Duty is the latest example of how Ford listens to customer demand and backs it up with real engineering. Though this truck is headed exclusively for the Australian and New Zealand markets, it speaks volumes about what's possible when Ford's global teams focus on capability. It takes everything drivers love about the midsize Ranger and cranks it up to meet heavy-duty standards.

Exterior and Interior Design
The Ranger Super Duty looks like a truck that means business. It has a bolder, more squared-off stance than the standard Ranger. From the open-weave mesh grille to the steel front bumper and pumped guards, every line on the body reflects function and strength. Large over-fenders, 33-inch all-terrain tires, and a stamped "SUPER DUTY" hood set it apart instantly.

Ford will offer it in multiple configurations. These include single cab, super cab, and double cab chassis, with a style-side box version planned later. Inside, the cabin holds up under worksite conditions with hard-wearing materials. Still, it does not skip comfort. A 12-inch SYNC 4 infotainment screen comes standard, along with a smart layout that includes overhead auxiliary switches and optional device mounts.
Performance and Capability
This is where the Super Duty badge earns its name. Under the hood sits a 3.0-liter V6 turbo diesel engine, tuned for serious grunt and long-haul dependability. Paired with a fortified cooling system and a full-time 4WD system, it handles heavy payloads, extreme heat, and rough terrain without hesitation.

Ford rates the truck at 4,500 kg of braked towing, 4,500 kg gross vehicle mass, and 8,000 kg gross combined mass. That translates to roughly 9,920 pounds of towing, 9,920 pounds of vehicle weight, and a total combined load capacity of about 17,640 pounds.

Six selectable drive modes fine-tune throttle and traction response. These include Normal, Eco, Tow/Haul, Mud/Ruts, Sand, and Rock Crawl. With just a turn of the dial, drivers can shift the truck's behavior to fit their environment.

The Ranger Super Duty also features a reinforced chassis, new heavy-duty axles, thicker driveshafts, and eight-stud wheel hubs with larger bolts that spread weight more effectively.

Technology and Safety Features
Inside the truck, the technology is just as hard-working. Pro Trailer Backup Assist lets you steer trailers more precisely. Onboard Scales and Smart Hitch features help you balance your load without guesswork. The SYNC 4 system integrates smartphones, navigation, and real-time vehicle data into one central hub.
Safety tech matches its muscle. Adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, lane keeping assist, and trailer coverage are all available. A 360-degree camera and reverse brake assist improve maneuverability both on the job site and in tight urban spaces.

Practical Benefits and Who It's For
The Ford Ranger Super Duty is perfect for buyers who need more muscle than a standard midsize truck can offer, but who do not want the bulk of a full-size model. It fills a sweet spot for operators like farmers, utility crews, overlanders, and emergency services. It is also built for serious towing and off-road work, with no fluff added.

While this model won't be hitting showrooms here in the U.S., we love seeing what's possible when Ford listens closely and engineers boldly. It sets the tone for what could follow elsewhere.
