What’s New in the 2025 Ford Expedition Platinum MAX

The 2025 Ford Expedition Platinum Max is the top trim level of Ford's largest SUV, the Expedition. The Platinum Max is powerful and luxurious, and it has plenty of family-friendly space. It comes with several updates, including changes to the exterior style, updated technology, and enhanced performance. Here's some more information about the 2025 Expedition Platinum Max.

Updated Exterior & Styling

The redesigned Expedition Platinum MAX weighs 5,968 pounds, and it's almost 18.5 feet long, 7 feet wide, and 6.5 feet tall. The reshaped grille looks smooth and sleek, and it's framed on both sides by continuous LED light strips. The back has a more sculpted look as well. The revised taillights blend into the top of the new split liftgate. You can open the upper and lower parts of the liftgate independently, and the lower portion can keep items from rolling out of the vehicle or work as a seat when tailgating.
Interior & Tech Upgrades

This SUV has premium materials, including leather seats in the first and second rows. In the third row, you'll get power-folding 40/20/40 seats. The previous model had power-folding 60/40 third-row seats. The 2025 Platinum MAX also adds 10-way power driver seats with lumbar support and memory settings and eight-way power passenger seats. A new power-sliding center console between the front seats lets you store small items easily.

You can interact with the all-new Ford Digital Experience on a customizable, panoramic 24-inch display and a 13.2-inch center-stack touchscreen. These displays are part of a fresh dash design, and the rotary gear shifter and volume knob are in a different location. You can use these screens to download apps or adjust the seats, mirrors, and steering wheel. It comes with navigation as well. The new heated steering wheel is a combination between a square and a circle, sometimes called a squircle. A panoramic sunroof and a 22-speaker B&O sound system are optional.
Performance & Driving Experience

The 2025 Expedition Platinum MAX has the same 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine as the 2024 model. It provides 400 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque, and a high-output version is now optional as well. The high-output 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 produces 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. Additional software for the 10-speed automatic transmission gives a smoother ride. BlueCruise Hands-Free Highway Driving is optional with the 2024 model, but it's not available with the 2025 Platinum MAX. You can choose all-wheel drive, and the acceleration rate is excellent.
