Under the hood, the standard 3.5L EcoBoost V6 pushes out 400 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque. For more demanding jobs or trail adventures, the high-output version makes 440 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque. It is standard on the Tremor and available on the Platinum and Stealth models.
Every Expedition uses a 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive comes standard, but 4WD with a Terrain Management System is available. The Tremor adds off-road tools like a locking rear differential and premium shocks.
When properly equipped, this SUV can tow up to 9,600 pounds. Trailer sway control, an integrated trailer brake controller, and available Pro Trailer Backup Assist help make that towing job smoother. The fuel economy is solid for this size, with up to 17 mpg in the city and 23 on the highway.
