Nowadays, there are a lot of ways to test drive a car. If there is one thing Ford is great at, it is innovating new materials. Last year, the automaker began researching a new gecko-inspired adhesive that would make recycling end-of-life cars easier. Geck-tech is far from the only unusual substance Ford is working on.

The 2017 Ford Fusion seems to have no end to advanced new technology. Its adaptive cruise control has been upgraded to cope with stop-and-go traffic. The V6 Sport model will feature an innovative new pothole mitigation system.

"The exhaust system may be damaged if you hear it emitting loud or unfamiliar noises, indicating a possible leak. Because the muffler system also routes exhaust fumes away from the cabin and helps the engine run properly, this could turn into a big problem if not addressed promptly."
