The Fiesta is currently one of the earliest Ford nameplates still in production. And in the 2018 model year, it is still one of the most popular subcompacts: with excellent fuel economy, nimble handling, and the choice between two body styles (four-door sedan and five-door hatchback). The 2018 model continues the Fiesta’s sixth production cycle in the United States, with four trims: the S, the SE, the Titanium, and the ST, which is only available as a hatchback.

Performance

Typically, the 2018 Ford Fiesta relies on the 1.6-liter Duratec inline 4-cylinder (I4) engine—which provides an output of 120 horsepower and 112 lb-ft of torque—for power. The ST, however, goes with the turbocharged 1.6-liter EcoBoost I4, which produces 180 horsepower and 214 lb-ft of torque. The S and SE go with a 5-speed manual transmission, the Titanium gets a 6-speed automatic gearbox, and the sport-styled ST has a 6-speed manual transmission.

Interior

With seating for up to five people, the 2018 Ford Fiesta has a 60/40 split-folding rear seat to expand cargo space into the cabin. Front seating consists of a 6-way manually adjustable driver's seat and a 4-way manually adjustable front-passenger seat. Power lumbar support for the driver's seat is added on the Titanium and ST. As the top-of-the-line trim, the Titanium stands out with its leather upholstery and front-seat heating capability; the ST is the only trim with sports-style seats. Comfort and convenience are provided by features such as an LCD screen, six-speaker 80-watt audio, an AM/FM radio tuner, a single-disc CD player with MP3 playback capability, and SYNC® infotainment integration with SYNC® Applink for issuing voice commands. Cruise control and proximity keyless entry are added on the SE. Both the Titanium and ST have electronic automatic climate control, intelligent access with push-button engine ignition, SiriusXM® radio service, two smart-charging USB ports, and an eight-speaker 100-watt Sony® audio system with HD Radio™ technology. The Titanium is the only Fiesta trim with an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Race-inspired aluminum pedals and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with red contrast stitching are unique to the ST.

Safety

A driver knee airbag, dual front impact airbags, a pair of front seat-mounted side-impact airbags, and dual roof-mounted side-curtain airbags provide restraint and cushioning when there's a crash. Also standard on the 2018 Fiesta are AdvanceTrac® for electronic vehicle stability, traction control, an SOS post-crash alert system, electronic brake-force distribution, hill start assist, an anti-lock brake system, torque vectoring control, and the SecuriLock® anti-theft system (which includes remote keyless entry and a perimeter alarm). The ST gets all-wheel disc brakes for improved stopping ability; the others use the front-disc/rear-drum layout. And the Titanium is the only model with a rearview camera and reverse sensing system for ultimate monitoring when backing out of your garage or parking spot.
