The 2018 model year is part of the F-Series’ thirteenth generation, and it is split into six trims: XL, XLT, LARIAT, King Ranch®, Platinum, and Limited.

Performance

Under the hood of the 2018 Ford F-250 SuperDuty truck is a 6.2-liter flex-fuel V8 with 385 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque joined to a 6-speed TorqShift® automatic transmission with SelectShift™ gear-control technology. The Limited is the only trim that uses the 6.7-liter Power Stroke® turbodiesel V8, which churns out 450 horsepower and 935 lb-ft of torque. There’s the choice between rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive. The truck can be configured to have a maximum loaded trailer weight rating of 42,800 lbs.

Interior

The 2018 Ford F-250 SuperDuty is available in three body styles: the two-door Regular Cab; and the four-door Super Cab and slightly larger Crew Cab. Both the Super Cab and Crew Cab are available in Short Wheel Base (SWB) and Long Wheel Base (LWB). The SWB model provides 65.4 cubic feet of volume while the LWB model supplies 78.5 cubic feet. Each body style offers the choice between a 6 ¾-foot and 8-foot box. Standard comfort and convenience features include MyKey® for proximity access, four-speaker audio, AM/FM radio, and a 2.3-inch productivity screen. Features like cruise control, leather trim, 10-way power seat adjustability, heating and cooling on the front seats, dual-zone automatic control, six- or 10-speaker audio, remote engine start, a Sony® single-disc CD player, a rearview or 360-degree camera, navigation, SiriusXM® satellite radio, a 4.2- or 8-inch productivity screen, and Android Auto™ are optional or on higher-level trims.

Safety

The restraint and cushioning system on the 2018 Ford F-250 SuperDuty consists of dual front impact airbags, dual front-seat side airbags, and a pair of side curtains. (A passenger deactivation switch is added on the Regular Cab and SuperCab.) Also standard are four-wheel anti-lock vented disc brakes, AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control® for electronic vehicle stability, trailer sway control, Belt-Minder® (for reminding occupants to buckle up), SecuriLock® engine immobilization, and an SOS post-crash alert system. On the XLT trim and up, engine immobilization is combined with remote keyless entry and a perimeter anti-theft alarm to spruce up the truck’s security system. Also available are blind spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert.
