2017 Ford Fusion
Serving Chattanooga, Nashville, and Dalton, TN
The Ford Fusion is already one of the finest vehicles in a highly competitive midsize sedan—with a rare combination of style and substance that has charmed critics and thrilled consumers. Knowing best not to tinker too much with its winning formula, Ford gave the Fusion a welcome refresh towards the end of its second production cycle. For the 2017 model year, the front and rear of the vehicle has been slightly updated, and the cabin has received some upgrades. The 2017 Fusion also welcomes two new trims. In addition to the S, SE, and Titanium, it now has a new top-end variant in the Platinum, as well as a high-performance model named Sport.

Performance
On the S and SE trims of the 2017 Fusion, there’s a 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder (I4) engine that produces 175 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque and is linked to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The previously top-tier Titanium and the current top-tier Platinum have a 2.0-liter turbocharged I4, which, although smaller, is actually stronger: with an output of 245 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. Added on the Titanium and Platinum are paddle shifters for simulating a manual gearbox, and the engine leads to a dual-exhaust system. As the performance-oriented trim, the Sport is the only one with the 2.7-liter EcoBoost twin-turbocharged V6, which outguns the other engines with an output of 325 horsepower and 380 horsepower and an accompanying quad-exhaust system (in addition to a 6-speed auto gearbox with paddle shifters). Although front-wheel drive is standard, you can actually get all-wheel drive on the Titanium or Platinum trim; this drivetrain is actually standard on the Sport. Fuel economy peaks at 21/32 mpg, provided that you go with the S or SE.
Interior
Designed as a five-seater, the new Ford Fusion comes with 10-way power adjustability and 2-way power lumbar support on the driver’s side if you upgrade from the S to the SE or Sport. Also added on the SE and Sport are 6-way power adjustability on the front passenger seat. (The Titanium and Platinum get 10-way instead of 6-way.) True to its designation, the Sport in particular comes with leather-trimmed sports-style seats.

Features
At the base level, the Ford Fusion includes a host of comfort and convenience features that includes Bluetooth connectivity, push-button engine start, remote keyless entry, steering wheel-mounted controls, a four-speaker stereo system, and Ford’s very own SYNC voice-command technology. Upper-level features include a dual-zone automatic climate control system, auto-dimming rearview mirror, adaptive cruise control, a power moonroof with universal garage door opener, and a 12-speaker 390-watt Sony audio system that comes with HD Radio.
Safety
For auto collision safety, the 2017 Ford Fusion is equipped with front impact, driver’s knee, side impact, and side curtain airbags. Also on the Fusion are a rearview camera, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, and electronic stability control. If you go with the top-level Platinum, Ford adds a lane keeping system, as well as a blind spot information system with cross-traffic alert.
