2017 Ford Expedition
Serving Chattanooga, Nashville, and Dalton, TN
As the name suggests, the 2017 Ford Expedition is ready for adventure. This family-ready home away from home is spacious and well-appointed. Ready to pull your biggest toys, the SUV boasts the top towing power in its class.

Performance
Despite its size, the 2017 Ford Expedition is quick. It can rush from 0 to 60 mph in just 6.5 seconds, according to Edmunds test drivers. That's remarkable for any SUV, especially a three-row edition. The regular and EL editions have a turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 under the hood. It kicks out 365 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft. of torque. Paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, the Expedition comes with standard rear-wheel drive. For low-range gearing, there's an available four-wheel drivetrain. The proper tow equipment allows it to pull up to 9,200 pounds. The independent multilink suspension permits each wheel to deal individually with jolts and bumps. A load-leveling suspension is available to improve handling, stability and ride quality. Ford's first Continuously Controlled Damping System improves handling and the passenger experience.
Interior
With three rows of seating in 160 cu.ft. of space, this SUV really takes care of eight people. It's easy to reach the back with the sliding center seats. These also recline for comfort. You can opt for center captain's chairs. For cargo space, the seats fold flat into the floor and create an enormous hold. The regular edition has 108 cu.ft. while the EL has 155 cu.ft. That beats the Toyota Sequoia and the Chevy Suburban by 10 cu.ft. In fact, the EL has one of the largest standard cargo holds on the market. With the seats up, it boasts 42.6 cu.ft. The XLT base edition boasts such must-have amenities as power-adjustable pedals, heated side mirrors with puddle lamps, and a driver's power chair. Packages and higher editions add a passenger power chair, a power liftgate, heated/ventilated front seats, power-fold third row, and push button start. Of course, you also can get your choice of leather and other upscale amenities. The ambient illumination feature lets you program one of seven colors to light your cabin at night.

Features
Every Expedition has an audio screen, Bluetooth streaming audio, and rear audio controls. Other basic equipment includes a USB interface, an auxiliary jack, a CD player, Bluetooth phone, and satellite radio capability. You can enjoy the standard 4.2-inch display or upgrade to the Sync 3 eight-inch touchscreen with HD radio. The upgraded audio system is an exciting 12-speaker Sony. Navigation with voice activation rounds out the package, adding informative maps and turn-by-turn directions. For the kids, there's a dual-screen entertainment system.
Safety
Despite its size, the Ford Expedition has earned all five stars from the federal crash testers. Air curtains stretch three rows, protecting all outboard passengers. The vulnerable driver and front seat passenger are protected by additional airbags. Staying out of danger is equally important. Electronic traction controls and anti-lock rear brakes maintain the right traction, helping the driver during every maneuver. To assist with parking, every edition has a rearview camera and helpful parking sensors. The King Ranch and Platinum trim levels now have a blind spot monitor, helping the Expedition driver make safer lane changes.
