2016 Ford Super-Duty

Serving Chattanooga, Nashville, and Dalton

The 2016 Ford Super Duty is tough and powerful, but it offers the many amenities that today's drivers crave. This year the infotainment system has been completely revamped. It's no wonder that the F-Series is once again the Best Truck Brand, according to U.S. News and World Report.

Performance

Under the hood of the Super Duty, you'll find either a brawny diesel or a muscled gas-powered V-8. The 6.7-liter diesel has 440 horses under the hood. As if that weren't enough, it kicks out 860 lb.-ft. of torque to really move the load. The standard V-8 generates 385 horsepower, which it backs up with 405 lb.-ft. of torque thrust. This one can tow 15,900 pounds. With performance like this, both trucks are good partners for work or adventure towing. To make the most out of that power in low revs when it is needed most, the truck has a tow-haul mode. Four-wheel drive ensures that this truck can't be stopped by mud. Depending on the model, a 4x4 drivetrain can be paired with off-roading equipment and hill descent control. Ford offers favorite exterior utility features such as its unique bed steps. Cargo bed lights and a locking tailgate add to its ability to get the job done.

Interior

Finding the right configuration for your work life is important. The Supercab, the regular four-door cab, and the regular cab all offer a good value, especially with 6.8-foot and eight-foot bed choices. With many different trims, the Ford line-up can take care of the individual entrepreneur, the busy business manager, the corporate fleet or the adventure-minded Dad. The XL trim adds favorite amenities such as a tilt-telescopic steering wheel, lockable storage, and power accessories. The Lariat edition features leather upholstery and pairs power-adjusting seats with power-adjustable pedals. The King Ranch takes the creative design even further and adds power-ventilated bucket seats. The Platinum's original leather upholstery and trim set it apart from the crowd.

Features

Although their main job is hauling and towing big loads, Super Duty trucks now offer the same ability to entertain and inform as the light duty line-up. Sync Basic has advanced voice commands to allow drivers to access Bluetooth streaming from their smartphone. It also allows you to interact by voice with your phone's text messaging function. The eight-inch touchscreen expands entertainment choices. This system even allows you to control your temperature settings by voice command. Tech equipment includes an SD card reader and several USB ports. Two-row models offer a 12-volt power outlet. A customized dash computer is available through Ford Work Solutions.

Safety

Serious about safeguarding its passengers, the Ford Super Duty takes a canopy approach with dual front airbags and two long side curtains. The special roll-fold curtains can slide between the passenger and the window. There's an SOS Post Crash Alert to summon emergency response. This 911 Alert feature is built into the Sync Basic system as well as the more advanced touchscreen system. Whether on the worksite or in a crowded parking area, a rearview camera is a good partner for rear parking sensors. To monitor your load, there are telescoping trailer tow mirrors. LED strobe lights are a special warning feature that is unique to the Ford Super Duty.
