Turbodiesel V8 Engine Power

The 2017 Ford F-250 is a full-size truck containing an oversized engine. The standard engine is a 6.2L gasoline V8 that churns out a total of 385 horsepower. The model can also be equipped with a recently redesigned 6.7L turbodiesel engine that makes a whopping 440 horsepower and 925 lb-ft of torque. Regardless of the engine chosen, power is sent to the rear wheels by a six-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is optional on all trims. The 2017 Ford F-350 Super Duty truck comes with the choice of these same two engines. Properly equipped, both trucks can tow a total of 18,000 pounds, and the F-350 can haul up to 32,000 pounds of gooseneck trailer.

Cab Configurations

The 2017 Ford F-250 is offered in a total of five different trims, and each of these trims is available as a standard cab, extended cab, and crew cab styles. Buyers have the choice of the shorter 6.75-foot bed or the longer 8-foot bed length. The base model XL comes with a 40/20/40-split front seat and a 60/40-split rear seat. Air conditioning is standard. The extended and crew cabs also feature nicely designed overhead storage bins. The uplevel trims add on cruise control, power-adjustable pedals, and 10-way power front seats. The 2017 Ford F-350 has a similarly designed cab, with extended or crew cab configurations available throughout the trim lineup. The Lariat and King Ranch trims feature leather upholstery, power front seats, and a heated steering wheel.

Technology Options

Ford has included some of the basic high-tech features on the base trim F-250. These include a driver information display and a four-speaker stereo system. Those who choose the extended or crew cab versions enjoy a six-speaker audio system on the base trim. The uplevel versions come with an 8-inch display screen and the upgraded Sync 3 voice-controlled infotainment system. This system is also standard on the uplevel F-350 trims. The F-350 King Ranch trim offers such niceties as driver memory settings and a full navigation system. The Platinum trim comes with a 10-speaker stereo system and the Ultimate Trailer Tow system with its total of seven cameras. The driver awareness systems including blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on the Platinum crew cab version.
